Renovating a Small Bathroom on a Budget

One Fort Myers home remodeling project that many people look to when sprucing up their home is the bathroom. But not just any bathroom: specifically, people want to upgrade their powder rooms or small bathrooms to get the most value out of the space.

Understandably, not a lot of people dedicate big budgets for such a small room. That’s okay – you can actually do a lot for your bathroom on a relatively-small budget.

To limit the budget, you could focus on making just a few changes to the overall look and feel. The fewer changes you make, the less you’ll spend – and it doesn’t take much to transform a small space.

We’ll start with the floor. Flooring goes a long way to making a room pop with style. It’ll probably be your single biggest expense for a small bathroom or powder room, but the small size you’re working with will make it cost far less than a typical bathroom flooring installation.

The great thing about such a small space is that you can still use premium, high-end materials, like natural stone or porcelain tile. Consider using a premium material. Slate has grown in popularity and has an exquisite look.

Next, you can look at one focal point of the room: the sink. Investing in a new sink won’t set you back much, but it will make a big impact on the look of the room. A great sink, with great fixtures, can wow your guests – for a relatively small amount of money. You don’t have to overhaul the cabinetry and countertop, either (although if you’re switching from an inset sink to a trendy vessel sink, you might have to).

Finally, focus on the backsplash. The backsplash won’t cost much, but you’ll benefit from the amazing variety of styles and designs you can use to make your bathroom pop. Whether you go subtle or go bold, a new backsplash will tie everything together for not a lot of money. Consider a glass backsplash with colored tiles to create something every guest will appreciate.
